Lake Tenkiller Engagement Pictures in Eastern Oklahoma
Can you believe this amazing cliffside location is in Eastern Oklahoma?! Gabby and Jeriah met while attending NSU in Talequah, Oklahoma and share a deep love of water! It was only fitting that their engagement pictures take place at the lake since they’re getting married in front of the pond at Coles Garden this summer! I met up with them before Jordan & Mitch’s Tulsa wedding and made a trip out of my sessions in the Eastern part of the state!
When brainstorming locations for this Waterfront engagement session, I had a few places in mind! Eastern Oklahoma has way more water options than the OKC area but I had heard such wonderful things about Lake Tenkiller from my friends that I knew it would be the perfect spot for G + J! These Lake Tenkiller Engagement Pictures have turned out to be some of my favorites from my career because of the love these cuties share, the amazing views, lush trees, and the water! I’m a big fan of lakes and oceans and I wish we had an option like Lake Tenkiller closer to Oklahoma City! Though it might be a few hour drive, if any of my Tulsa or OKC couples are wanting a session at Lake Tenkiller, I am always happy to make the drive!
One of the reasons I love water based engagement picture locations is because of the variety the locations usually offer! Sometimes it takes a bit of scouting but most good engagement picture locations offer a variety of spots for photos that help me tell the story of my couples. For this session, we started at the cliffs and also got to enjoy some of the lush wildflowers that fell on the other side of the tree line. I knew I wanted to save the beach option for sunset when the sun would be a little lower in the sky. The key to golden hour is hitting it at just the right moment so my clients can move freely without me having to worry about overly bright sun or them having to squint! No one loves pictures with their eyes closed because its too bright! Though I loved both location options, there is something so simple about a beach scene that moves the focus to the couple and made it my favorite for this Lake Tenkiller Engagement Session!
