Lainie + Chris | Intimate St. Louis Summer Wedding

There is so much to say about Lainie and Chris’ St. Louis summer wedding at the Boathouse at Forest Park but I feel like I should start with the word Grace. After their original wedding plans fell through, these two and the incredible staff at the Forest Park boathouse put together a wedding full of love and joy!

I met Lainie during college thanks to our sorority, Gamma Phi Beta! Lainie was a Campus Leadership Consultant visiting the University of Oklahoma to help us prepare for recruitment. During her two short weeks on campus with us, Lainie made such an impression with her amazing leadership and organizational skills! We stayed in touch thanks to social media and I was over the moon when she reached out after her and Chris got engaged!

The last time I was in St. Louis was many years before I ever started doing wedding photography! I spent much of my first trip to STL in an arena competing in cheer competitions, lets say quite a lot has changed since then!

As soon as I left the airport I was amazed with the architecture of St. Louis! The jeffersonian style buildings and European influences make the town a photographers dream! I woke up early on Saturday morning to scout out a few locations before my coverage began! Lainie + Chris had to alter the reception plans so I headed to their new venue to get a good look!

I was immediately impressed by how wonderful Forest Park is and how many amazing locations there are for wedding photographers! The Great Basin immediately stood out to me and reminded me of my European travels! I was so glad I took the time to scout because it made shooting with L + C such a breeze!

Thanks to COVID, Lainie and Chris had an intimate wedding in person but had a HUGE wedding via zoom! One of my favorite moments of the day was right after the ceremony when L + C greeted their zoom guests and got to read their words of encouragement!

After the ceremony we all headed back to the Boathouse at Forest Park for a perfect summer reception! The lighting and scenery at Forest Park is to die for and had me swooning over the lush greens!
