Its not everyday you get to photograph your best friend and Maid of Honor’s proposal!! I had to have some tissues on hand as I wrote this blog just because of how special it is to me. Hooray for friendship, love, and this Lake Stanley Draper Proposal!

Obviously I was over the moon when Brandon brought up the topic of proposing to Bethany and almost just as excited that I got to help plan and photograph it! I’ve known these two since college and have loved getting to watch their relationship grow! I am so excited for them in this season of marriage and cannot wait to see them tie the knot next March at Cole’s Garden in Oklahoma City!

The #1 priority for the proposal was making sure Bethany felt special! Brandon and I talked through several ideas for where to propose in Oklahoma City and we finally settled on a sentimental spot! Lake Stanley Draper turned out to be not only be an easily accessible option but also nodded to the early days of their relationship when they would drive around the lake and talk for hours. We scouted out this little jetty and decided it would be the perfect spot!

We all tried to throw Bethany off to try and keep to proposal a surprise, whether since was happy about that is still TBD! haha After lots of lies, and a few more fibs, Brandon convinced her he had to make a delivery by the Lake before heading to dinner with Beth’s parents. I was there waiting with Bethany’s dog, Odin, ready to capture the whole thing!

When Beth and Brandon arrived I tried to get Odin to go meet them but instead he was only interested in getting belly rubs 😂 Beth quickly saw my nightstand that was serving as the table for the gifts and flowers and immediately knew something was up! Odin finally saw his mom and made a dead sprint for more scritches (pictured below!). After some very sweet words and an important prayer, Beth said yes!!

Odin was the star of the show as he rolled around while Brandon was down on one knee! I always say dogs are the toughest talent but they are always the cutest!! If you are considering bringing your dog to a proposal you’re planning, all I can say is do it!

After the proposal we snagged a couple pictures before heading off to Bethany’s parents house for an after party! We spent the evening celebrating the happy couple and ooo-ing over her ring!
