Colorful Downtown OKC Engagement Session | Erica + Chase
Every year I host two photography giveaways for the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas! One is my annual wedding photography giveaway each January and the second is my session giveaway every summer! In 2020 I had such an amazing turnout for my session giveaway I decided to give away. two sessions! Erica + Chase were my second winners and I absolutely loved getting to meet up with them for a colorful downtown OKC Engagement Session!
Its no secret that I’m a wedding photographer that loves color! Large green trees, bright blue skies, and pretty pink peonies all steal my heart as soon as they make their way in front of my camera! I was thrilled when Erica & Chase were willing to venture to some less known spots for engagement photos in downtown OKC but are also full of color.
Our session began at Bar Arbolada and the beautiful blue doors and tile that make up with Main Street merchant area. Afterwords we made the quick walk to the Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall. I have always loved the Civic Center and even considered it as a venue for my wedding! The large facade and Art Deco windows make it a unique backdrop for engagement photos in the Oklahoma City metro. There are several landscaped areas in Bicentennial park that allow me to blend all of my loves together in one scene!
After spending time at the OKC Civic Center Music Hall we made our way to my new favorite location for Oklahoma City engagement pictures, the Classen tiled wall! What was once a beautiful mid-century bank has now been reduced to one small wall lining Classen Avenue. The wall is coved with the most beautiful blue and white hex tile and gold metalwork. The colorful wall is the perfect location for cheery engagement photos in Oklahoma City! The tile can look hard or soft depending on how far away you are from the wall. I love to bring variety to the photos but positioning my clients in lots of places around the structure. Though the wall isn’t large, there is still plenty of opportunity for variety as long as you know what you’re doing!
